Wayne Mills has been producing his annual list of recommended books for boys for many years. Wayne is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the University of Auckland, but is better known as the Quizmaster of the Kids' Lit Quiz. Wayne set up the Quiz in New Zealand but it has since gone global, with heats being held round the world.

Wayne has often been asked for advice by parents and teachers who are keen to turn their boys into enthusiastic readers. But many boys become bored with novels and are easily distracted by other activities.
